NOTE: Each 201 holster is molded to the frame of the revolver specified rather than the barrel length.
The Aker Leather 201 Comfort-Flex® shoulder holster system for revolvers is the revolver-specific carry version of our first and most popular shoulder holster, developed almost 30 years ago!
Each 201 shoulder rig is designed and manufactured in our California factory using materials primarily sourced from the USA. We use a premium full grain leather from North American cowhide, which as a tooling leather is perfect for shoulder holsters since it retains the deep mold of the weapon, insuring years of use without losing shape as it becomes more comfortable over time.
One of the distinctive features of the 201 holster molding is that each weapon fit is molded to the frame of the weapon specified. For example, the 201 made for a Smith & Wesson J frame should fit most equivalent revolvers with either a 2" or 3" barrel length. Same is for K or L frame revolvers or even N frame.
For both black and tan holsters, we start with a natural cut of leather and either dip dye for black or hand oil for tan, giving it a distinctive color you will not find from other manufacturers. This also speaks to the detailed handwork going into each model 201, which also features nylon bonded thread, solid brass hardware, and finishing touches and flourishes only years of craftsmanship can cultivate.
With this eye to perfection in mind, we created a specially contoured top grain leather harness that prevents the center piece from riding up and placing the weapon's weight on the base of the neck. Instead, the weight is on the shoulder muscles, where it belongs, preventing the pain that may be experienced from an improperly designed harness. Such comfort and flexibility is why named this shoulder holster model the Comfort-Flex®. Easily adjustable with the solid brass Chicago screws and injection molded keepers, the shoulder straps can accommodate chest sizes up to 62" and should last the life of the shoulder holster.
The rear strap attaching point to the shoulder holster is at the lower edge of the holster, which offers a diagonal (or angled) carry for maximum concealment whether you plan to carry a snub nose or 4" barrel revolver. On the other side is a dual speedloader pouch, to complement the revolver specifications, and further distributes the weight.
It can also attach to the belt with the 104 Magazine Side Tie-Down, sold separately.
I have multiple Aker Flatsider shoulder rigs for my Glock pistols, they are superp, which is why I jumped on these when they became available, I carry a 686 3" every day as I traverse the remote country monitoring bear in NW WI. It's very well made, and quite good looking(black leather), you do not require the tie down strap on the off hand as it balances out nicely, even for daily CCing. However there is a major omission which results in only a 4-star rating, maybe even a 3.5-star rating, it lacks a tension screw which I have on all of my Flatsider shoulder rigs, so once worn in, if for any reason the thumb snap fails, the heavy S&W L-frame could, and most likely would eject from it! Aside from that its an excellent shoulder rig for daily carry/concelmment...

From the time I ordered, I had numerous questions (being an old school wheel gun guy). But I've got to say communication was great AND fast!
Then once I got it and wore it, WOW!

My S&W 686 and 66 are working out great in this setup!

I got this holster for primary use with my S&W Model 19 (2.5" barrel); however, it will also work well concealing my longer barrel (up to 4" barrel) S&W K frame revolvers. The leather used for this holster is first rate, ditto the workmanship. Afer adjusting the harness properly for angle and position of the holster and speedloader case, the holster rig is ready for use.The molded holster is ready to use, with no break in period necessary. It is comfortable for all day wear. I highly recommend this revolver shoulder rig to anyone who is in the market for such an item.
